Theodore “Ted” Howard Williams, 98, son of Charles Arthur Williams and Dora Mae Crumrine Williams, was born at Plato. He died March 20, 2007, at Fredericka Manor in Chula Vista, Calif., where he had lived for the last 11 years.

He moved to California in 1928 and married Bonnie in 1939.

Mr. Williams started in music as banjo and guitar player in several bands.

After his marriage, he worked for Dennstedt Building Co. and was an agent for New York Life Insurance. He became manager of the Dennstedt Electro Mart, one of San Diego’s leading appliance stores and was later owner of LaMesa Electro Mart.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2000, and a sister, Thelma Irwin, in 1994.

Surviving are three daughters, Terri Michelsen of Wheeler, Ore., Julie Smith of El Cajon, Calif., and Lisa Wynn of Denver, Colo.; one son, Tom Williams of Hanalei, Hawaii; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are April 7 at the home of Julie Smith in El Cajon, Calif.
