Jasper Delano McGuire, 68, son of Robert and May Perryman McGuire, was born Aug. 26, 1938, at Raymondville. He died April 27, 2007, at Houston.
“Huck,” a nickname he acquired from his older brother as a young boy, lived at Raymondville before moving in 1968 to St. Louis.
He built railroad cars for Amtrak at the St. Louis Car Co. After the St. Louis plant closed, he went to work for the Chrysler car plant at Fenton until he had to take early retirement due to health problems in the early ’80s. He then moved his family back to Raymondville.
He was preceded in death by is wife, Jean; four sisters, Virginia, Jewel, Helen and Jean; and one brother, William.
Surviving are two sons, Steve and Frankie McGuire of the home at Raymondville; three daughters, Karen Kennedy of Union, Becky Ghirardi of Arnold and Sherry Wittu of Imperial; three brothers, Robert of St. Louis and Thomas and Charles of Raymondville; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are 10 o’clock Saturday at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the McMahan Cemetery.
Visitation is 6 to 8 o’clock Friday evening at the Evans chapel.
