Maxie Ellis Eaton, 62, son of Kelbert Franklin and Mildred Mae Johnson Eaton, was born Sept. 20, 1944, at Mount Vernon, Ill. He died May 1, 2007, at Houston House Nursing Center after several years illness.
He attended schools in the Ozark area and Cabool High School.
He married Sandy Kay Williams June 23, 1972, at Elk Creek.
He was saved in September 1990 and attended the Elk Creek Baptist Church.
His hobbies included wood carving and going fishing and hunting.
He spent many hours as a hospice volunteer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sue; and one brother, Arnold Ray Eaton.
Surviving are his wife of Elk Creek; three brothers, Eugene of Springfield, John of Overton and Donnie of Kansas; and three sisters, Rosie Hanson, Mildred Doty and June Hamilton of Cabool.
Services were May 4 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brad Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Nagle Cemetery at Tyrone.
