Robert “Bob” Kirby Hart, 77, son of Kirby and Georgia Douglas Hart, was born July 26, 1929, at Turley. He died June 19, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston after a long illness.

He graduated from Houston High School in 1947 and married Peggy Atkisson May 27, 1950. They had four children.

Mr. Hart owned and operated Hart Farms until the late ’90s, when he sold it due to his failing health.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, keeping up on world events, reading, watching ball games, car races and talking politics.

He gave his heart to the Lord at an early age and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Turley as a young man. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife of the home in Houston; his children, Karla Frey, Dana Sparks, J.K. Hart and Devin Hart of Houston; brother, Douglas Hart of Houston; sister, Imogene Timmer of Mansfield, Ohio; six grandchildren and two step-grandsons.

Services are 2 o’clock Friday at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Moore and Phillip Nava officiating. Private family burial is in the Pine Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Care or the First Christian Church of Houston.

Visitation is 6 to 8 o’clock tonight (Thursday) at the Evans chapel.
