Deward W. “Bucky” Draughn, 68, son of Norene Roderick Brumley, was born at Shelbyville. He died June 8, 2007, at Woodinville, Wash., after a long battle with Lou Gehrig Disease.

After retirement, he and his wife spent their summers in Washington and wintered in Arizona. In 1980, he fulfilled his life-long dream, traveling for three months around the U.S. in a motor home with his family. In the last few years, they traveled to Alaska, England, Scotland, Ireland, made a raft trip through the Grand Canyon and a cruise through the Panama Canal.
He loved to play golf, go to garage sales and play cards and dominoes.
