Gene Densmore, 75, son of Thurman Albert Densmore and Emma Blanche Woodruff Densmore, was born Oct. 26, 1931, at Olney, Ill. He died June 17, 2007.

He married Amellie A. Leib Densmore June 2, 1955. They raised eight children.

Mr. Densmore had a sharp wit and enjoyed a good joke.

Prior to retiring, he worked in the food services industry for more than 30 years and was an accomplished pastry chef.

He was a tribal member of the Southern Cherokee Nation, Webber Falls, Okla.

He was preceded in death by one son, Keith Bradford Plough.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years; children, Cynthia Jane Spurlin of St. James, Samuel Thomas Plough Jr. of Licking, Stanley Albert Plough Sr. of Adrian, Robert Gene Densmore of Jamestown, Ohio, Richard Lee Densmore of Olney, Ill., David Dwayne Densmore of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Rebecca Sue Densmore-Stoll of Champaign, Ill.; and numerou grand- and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Tuesday at the Boone Creek Cemetery with Dr. James Miller and Jim Goodin officiating under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
