A Dixon woman managed to climb out of the wreckage of an accident Monday afternoon to seek help about 10 miles north of Roby, authorities said.

Daisy L. Ray, 34, was the driver of a southbound vehicle that ran off the left side of Highway 17 and over an embankment, said Tpr. Marty Wiseman.

Authorities said they were notified of the accident after Ray managed to get help after climbing up a ravine. She was flown to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield following the mishap.

She was wearing a seat belt, Wiseman said.
