Laura Willamae Robinson, 81, daughter of Monte Vandevort and Mary E. Brashers Vandevort, was born May 13, 1926, at Yale, Okla. She died June 14, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She married Hugh Kissee July 3, 1943, at Raymondville. They had 16 children, Clyde, Joseph, William, Priscilla, Letha, Drucilla, Sheila, Vershia, Roger, stillborn triplets and two sets of stillborn twins.
After Mr. Kissee’s death, she married Alvie Joe Robinson Sr. Sept. 14, 1961, at Corning, Ark. They had three children, A.J., his stillborn twin and Wilma.
Mrs. Robinson enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening. She attended Midvale Pentecostal Holiness Church when she was able.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and children, Joseph Levie, William Monta, Priscilla March and Letha Faye, Drucilla Elizabeth; one sister, Agnes Smith; and one brother, Leo Vandevort.
Surviving are her husband of Hartshorn; three sons, Clyde Kissee of Salem, Roger Kissee of St. Louis and Alvie Joe Robinson Jr. of Hartshorn; three daughters, Sheila Drake of St. Louis, Vershia Lee of Marion, Ill, and Wilma Fruechting of Hulbert, Okla.; two sisters, Sylvia Cook and Billy Cook of Hartshorn; one brother, Robert Vandevort of Cabool; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were June 19 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emmett Bradford officiating. Burial was in the Moark Cemetery at Moark, Ark.
