Sales tax revenue for the City of Houston was flat during the latest reporting period, said the Missouri Department of Revenue.
The tally from a one-cent sales tax totaled $85,301, which is a decrease of $601 from a year ago. For the year, $263,111 has been collected. That’s an increase of $5,539 for the year.
Revenue from two quarter-cent sales taxes was $21,167 each. That’s an increase of about $50 from a year ago. Each has generated $63,360 for the year, which is up about $1,200 each for the year.
Merchants also collect an eighth-cent sales tax for repayment on the city fire truck. That tax tallied $10,583 for the month. For the year, the total is $31,530.
