Bruce Edwin Chubbuck, 79, oldest son of Frank and Clara Davis Chubbuck, was born March 30, 1928, at Binghamton, N.Y. He died July 8, 2007, at Houston.

Mr. Chubbuck served two terms in the Army. He was a brakeman and radio operator in Panama from Jan. 10, 1946, to Jan. 10, 1949. He re-enlisted from Sept. 10, 1950, to Sept. 10, 1953, as a mechanic at Fort Knox, Ky.

The following year, he married Anna Mae Sweat. They had five children.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and a daughter, Tina.

Surviving are a son, Alan E. Chubbuck of New York; three daughters, Jeanette H. Googin of North Carolina, Lisa A. Buffett of West Virginia and Lavona B. Buffett of Bucyrus; three sisters, Gertrude Frost, Bev Parsons and Janet Vandeymark; and several grand- and great-grandchildren.

Services were July 10 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. The body was cremated. Burial is later this week at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery at New Hope, Ky.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
