Fred Hersel Propst, 79, son of Olen and Ellen Bleigh Propst, was born Oct. 2, 1927, at Centralia, W.Va. He died June 26, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
Mr. Propst joined the Navy, serving during World War II.
He was a musician and loved to play country music.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Jeannie and Freddie.
Surviving are two daughters, Melody and Joy.
The body will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is Friday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Springfield.
