K.W. “Bill” Hutchison, 80, son of Lewis and Elizabeth Neugebauer Hutchison, was born Nov. 23, 1926, at Highland Park, Ill. He died Aug. 21, 2007, at his home at Elk Creek.
He grew up at Highland Park, Ill., where he graduated from high school. He received his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University at Green Castle, Ind., and his master’s from the University of Chicago in Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Hutchison served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Sandra Obermiller Oct. 23, 1976.
Mr. Hutchison enjoyed carpentry, electrical and plumbing work. He loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
He was involved in prison ministries, helped build churches through the Assembly of God ministries and sang in the church choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Lewis; and one son, Daniel.
Surviving are his wife of the home at Elk Creek; seven sons, William of Bloomington, Ill., Larry of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Robert of Emmaus, Pa., John of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mark of Peoria, Ill., and Tim and Chris of Lemoore Naval Air Station, Calif.; three daughters, Pearl Foster of Spokane, Wash., and Elizabeth Boudreau and Ann Taghan of Peoria, Ill.; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were Aug. 25 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. The body was cremated.
