The wholesale supplier for the municipalities in Texas County and Intercounty Electric Cooperative issued a “peak alert” from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
With a weather forecast predicting extreme heat, Sho-Me Power Corp. says it expects a large demand placed on the system. It does not expect running out of electricity.
It offered these tips: Use only one major appliance at a time and turn off any lights, televisions, computers and small appliances that are not in use during the peak demand period.
“Use all the electricity you need, but please need all that you use,” according to a statement from the company.
