Cornelius L. “Con” Ludwig, 69, son of John and Helen Litzo Ludwig, was born July 15, 1938, at Quimby, Iowa. He died Sept. 19, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
He grew up in Iowa and Flandreau, S.D., where he graduated from high school in 1956.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years.
Mr. Ludwig married Betty Houselog Aug. 29, 1964, at Elkton, S.D. They moved to Raymondville in 1978. He operated a small business and farmed.
He especially loved working with wood, crafting things to give to family and friends and working in his garden and planting trees.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Donna Gothier; and one brother, Kenneth Ludwig.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years; and one sister, Marlene Thideman.
Services were Sept. 22 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. The body was cremated.
