Elizabeth Jean Yoder, 77, daughter of Jonas and Katie Gingerich, was born Nov. 30, 1929, near Kalona, Iowa. She died Sept. 9, 2007, from complications of cancer.

She received Christ in her youth and was baptized. She was a member of the Summersville Mennonite Church.

She married Morris Yoder Jan. 4, 1951, near Kalona, Iowa. They had eight children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a Mennonite minister who died of heart failure at a church service in 1975; two infant children, James and Mary Beth; and one grandchild.

Surviving are six children, Kathryn Beachy of Kalona, Iowa, Joyce Zimmerman and Regina Yoder of Summersville, Steven of Homeworth, Ohio, John of Iowa City, Iowa, and Michael of Unity, Wis.; eight siblings, Moses Gingerich of Kalona, Iowa, Mary Gingerich of Rochester, Minn., Fred Gingerich of Alberta, Canada, Nelson Gingerich of Anchorage, Alaska, Duane Gingerich of Jakarta, Indonesia, Lovina Rutt of Goshen, Ind., Carol Bowmen of Maryville, Tenn., and Firman Gingerich of Perkasie, Pa.; 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 12 at the Mountain View Christian Church with graveside services Sept. 13 at Haven Cemetery at Kalona, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Care, the Summersville Mennonite Church for the Belize or Romania Missions in care of Bradford Funeral Home, P.O. Box 154, Summersville.
