Harry Henshaw, 78, son of Harry Thomas Henshaw Sr. and Mathilda Stuhlmacher Henshaw, was born Dec. 18, 1928, at St. Louis. He died Aug. 30, 2007, at Houston after a long illness.
Mr. Henshaw grew up and attended school at Affton. He joined the U.S. Navy at age 17, serving 30 years in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
He enjoyed attending Sunday school and church at the United Methodist Church in Houston as long as his health permitted. He was an avid reader and had read the Bible through at least two times.
He loved new things and was taking an online class.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jared Henshaw; and a sister, Viola Self.
Surviving are his wife, Lois England-Henshaw of Houston; sons, Daniel and Jeffrey Henshaw of Rhode Island; a daughter, Denise Henshaw of Rhode Island; sisters, Virginia Schnaath of Marthasville, Matilda “Tilly” Davenport of Ferguson and Margery Schutz of Grandview, Mich.; stepchildren and grandchildren.
Memorial services are 2 o’clock Friday at the United Methodist Church in Houston with the Rev. Jay Frost officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Navy.
