Solutions to the country’s dependence on imported oil will be discussed today [Thursday] at an economic development meeting in Houston.
Jack Ryan and Jim Hart, who are involved in Ozarks Green Energy Development, will speak at 10:30 a.m. in the conference room of First National Bank in Houston.
Development of the bio-energy industry – using items readily available in the Ozarks – will be discussed. Ryan is a retired Air Force officer and pilot and past director of international marketing for the Missouri Department of Agriculture. He retired in 1997. Hart is a retired U.S. Navy submariner, an expert in nuclear propulsion who is an adjunct instructor with MSU and operator of an Internet service provider.
“This green-energy initiative will be open to all individuals interested in having a job creating energy industry in their communities,” said Ryan. “The complete transition from old to new may occur quickly or it may take years or even decades, but it inevitably occur. Technology exists now that makes it possible to begin that transition.”
The not-for-profit organization’s objective is to educate and provide information to facilitate the development of bio-energy industry in the Missouri Ozarks.
