Freddie Lee Neugebauer, 73, son of Fred and Lena Neugebauer, was born Aug. 6, 1934, at Bonita, Texas. He died Oct. 26, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield after a long battle with lymphoma.

He married Dovie Sue Taylor in 1962. They and their four children, in 1964, moved to Houston. His wife preceded him in death.

In 1995, he married Mary Marcella Fowler.

Mr. Neugebauer was a building contractor and built many homes and commercial buildings in the Houston area.

He attended the Cabool Assembly of God, where he taught the senior adult Sunday school class and was voted “man of the year” in 2006.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Marcella; his parents of Houston; his children, Rhonda Cancilla of Tracy, Calif., Brenda Neugebauer of Tulsa, Okla., Freddie Scott Neugebauer of Houston, Karl Keith Neugebauer of Bonne Terre; Teresa Flora of Springfield, Johnny Fowler of Lebanon, Tenn., Stacy Fowler of Houston and Codi Freeman of Holden; two brothers, Irley Neugebauer of Houston and Leon Neugebauer of Anococo, La.; a sister, Bea Flores of Nixa; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 30 at the Cabool Assembly of God with burial in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Cabool Assembly of God for the purchase of Fire Bibles, which are in different languages for use by pastors and lay people in other countries.
