Nancy Jane Thomason Jackson, 53, daughter of Robert and Frances Baker Thomason, was born Aug. 12, 1954, at Rolla. She died Nov. 12, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital after a four-year illness.
She grew up at Raymondville, where she was a member of the Raymondville Baptist Church.
She married Danny Jackson May 12, 1980. They had two sons.
She was a legal assistant for various Houston attorneys and secretary for Texas County Post at Raymondville.
Mrs. Jackson had a natural talent for music and art. She loved playing the piano and found she had a natural ability for the harp.
Her love and knowledge of her Native American heritage was shown in her hand-painted ceramic creations. Her work was becoming known worldwide as it came to an abrupt end in the spring of 2007.
She had a passion for the Ozarks of southern Missouri and northern Arkansas and collected books on the subject. Some of her last dreams were longing for the Piney and Current rivers.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving are her husband of the home; sons, Charles of Willard and Dustin of Springfield; her mother of Raymondville; brother, Denney Thomason of Raymondville; and four grandchildren.
Services are 2 o’clock today (Thursday) at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial is in the Allen Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Raymondville School library book fund.
