A father and son were injured Saturday night in a crash on Highway 17 south of Houston, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
A southbound vehicle driven by Connie E. Holland, 56, of Eminence, swerved into the northbound lane trying to avoid a deer, but struck it, said Tpr. Scott Nelson. A northbound vehicle driven by Eric D. McGuire, 22, of Springfield, attempted to avoid Holland’s vehicle, ran off the road and struck a culvert.
Injured were McGuire and his father, Danny, 56, who were taken to TCMH. The elder McGuire’s injuries were classified as moderate. The McGuire vehicle was totaled. Holland was able to remove her vehicle from the scene.
