The Texas County 4-H Shooting Sports Program will kick off a new year with a safety class required for participation.
They are 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, with a bad weather make-up date on Feb. 12. Completion of the course is mandatory to participate.
The county program has a successful history. The junior trap team has won first place in the state the last two years. The senior team has placed third and fourth the last two years. A 4-H small-bore team also has done well.
