The Houston Lady Tigers opened the Mansfield Tournament Monday with an easy 47-31 victory against Licking.

The Lady Tigers (7-9) led by as many as 22 points and committed just seven turnovers en route to their fourth consecutive victory.

“We just really played well and did a good job controlling tempo,” Houston coach Brent Kell said. “It was one of our most complete games of the season.”

Junior Kendra Welch hit four 3-pointers and led the Lady Tigers with 14 points. Holly Thomas scored 10 points and Danielle Pounds, who made two triples, added seven.
