Texas County Memorial Hospital Healthcare Foundation and Hospice of Care raised $2,245 in the sponsorship of lights for the “Let Our Light Shine” program.

Individuals and businesses sponsor lights in honor or in memory of others. The organizations succeeded in finding sponsors to illuminate 100 stars and two bells.

“We are really appreciative of the community effort to light the stars,” said Jay Gentry, TCMH Healthcare Foundation director. The foundation and Hospice of Care divide the funds raised through “Let Our Light Shine.”

The TCMH Healthcare Foundation is the non-profit organizational arm of the hospital that develops relationships and financial resources to support the healthcare programs, projects and services of the hospital. Funding from the Christmas season program will be used for hospital and community outreach services.

Hospice of Care is also a non-profit organization within TCMH that offers care for the terminally ill. Hospice of Care will use the funds raised through “Let Our Light Shine” to provide hospice care, supplies and equipment for patients and their families in Texas county and surrounding areas.

All hospital donations are funneled through the TCMH Healthcare Foundation, and a donor can specifically direct funding to an agency such as Hospice of Care. Donations made to the TCMH Healthcare Foundation are tax deductible.
