A lucky person will walk away with $6,500 in Missouri Lottery tickets in a fund-raiser Saturday for the Animal Shelter of Texas County. The winner will be announced at the “Lucky Dog Gala” at the chamber fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
The event benefits the shelter, which is situated on East Highway 17, and is looking to construct about an 8,000 square foot facility on its property. Temporary quarters are under construction there. A California firm, Shelter Planners of America, recently completed a needs assessment and developed drawings for the project.
The event features appetizers from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a four-course dinner catered by Cabool’s Gentry Center. Dinner entertainment also is planned.
Tickets are $100 or $175 for two. Firms can also purchase a table of six for $500. Donations are tax-deductible. Persons don’t have to attend to win.
