Vernon Cardell Heiney, 51, son of Daniel Thomas Heiney and Edna Marie Headrick Heiney, was born Dec. 31, 1956, at Rolla. He died Jan. 22, 2008.
Mr. Heiney enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was attending church and was baptized Jan. 20, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Heiney.
Surviving are his six children, Richard and Michael Heiney of Virginia, Amber Baker of Carthage and Barbara, Elizabeth and Danielle Heiney of Licking; his siblings, Mona Lewis and Ivan Heiney of Eunice, Joyce Franklin of Yukon, Daniel Heiney II of Houston, Vera Franklin of Willow Springs, Robert Heiney of Winona and Diana Dawes of Dixon; one grandson and special friend, Debbie Blazer of Licking.
Graveside services were Jan. 24 at Black Pond Cemetery with the Rev. Dorvan Stringer officiating under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.
