Coy Willard Hicks, 78, son of William Guy and Nancy Victoria Adey Hicks, was born Jan. 2, 1930, at Prescott. He died Feb. 7, 2008.

He grew up in the Prescott/Licking area, where he lived all his life except for a few years while he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

He married Orba Lucille Hicks June 30, 1955. They had three children.

Mr. Hicks worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods for 36 years before retiring. He loved working on the farm with the animals.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Licking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; one brother, Gaylord Earl; and an infant great-grandson.

Surviving are his daughters, Coyetta Lunn and Cathy Blankenship of Licking; son, David Hicks of Licking; one brother, William Lloyd Hicks of Florida; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 10 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Max Courtney and Dr. James Miller officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery.
