Delphia Armstrong, 88, daughter of Charlie A. and Martha I. Cross Green, was born Aug. 15, 1919, near Birch Tree. She died Feb. 20, 2008, at Rocky Ridge Manor at Mansfield.

A lifelong resident of Texas County, she operated a boarding home at Houston for a number of years. She was a member of the Hamilton Creek Church near Cabool.

Mrs. Armstrong enjoyed crocheting and tending her flower gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Marion Dodson and Perry Armstrong; five brothers, Andy, Arngie, Albert, Melvin and Charley Green; and two sisters, Bessie Brim and Melba Cooper.

She is survived by a brother, Harvey Green of Fort Scott, Kan.; and a nephew she raised, Albert Lee Green of Strafford.

Services were Feb. 26 at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. Joe Wright officiating. Burial was in the Central Baptist Cemetery at Houston.
