Dustin Allen Skaggs, 20, son of Jeffery Allen West and Deborah Lee Evelyn Skaggs, was born July 24, 1987, at Joplin. He died Feb. 10, 2008.
He lived with his mother and stepfather, Dennis Dale Skaggs, in the Fairview community until he was 17. He moved to Cabool. When his grandmother, Eva Fay Skaggs, died in November, he went to live with his grandfather, Cleo Jackson “Jack” Skaggs and aunt and uncle, Debbie and Albert Aborn at Mansfield.
He worked at Autumn Oaks Nursing Home.
He loved to hunt and fish with family members; play pool, basketball and wrestle with his buddies; and go to country dances.
He was anticipating the birth of his child in July.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather; father and stepmother, Sabrina White West; four sisters, Tera Skaggs, Shayanna Skaggs, Christie Lambert and Tina Skaggs; grandparents, Jack Skaggs of Mansfield, Berniece and Lawrence Skaggs of Cabool, Ted and Carline Browne of Cabool and Joann Tollison of Mountain Grove.
Services are 2 o’clock today (Thursday) at the Victory Worship Center at Cabool with Bill Kelly and Clinton Massey officiating. Burial is in the Murr Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
