Gary Michael Feringa, 52, son of Raymond and Rosalie Raisch Feringa, was born April 13, 1955, at Fort Carson, Colo. He died Feb. 25, 2008, at his home at Plato.
He was baptized in 1955 and confirmed in 1967 in the Catholic faith.
His family moved to St. Robert in the early ’60s from Grand Rapids, Mich., and to the Palace area in 1979. Mr. Feringa attended school at Waynesville, graduating in 1973.
He worked in painting and construction and for the last 10 years, cared for his mother before her death March 16, 2006. His brother came home in 2005 to help with his mother’s care.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are a brother, Jim, of Plato; and a sister, Judy Noblin of Austin, Texas.
Services are 1 o’clock Friday at the Palace Union Church with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial is in the Palace Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
Visitation is 6 to 7 o’clock tonight (Thursday) at the Evans chapel in Houston.
