Melissa Kay Cavaness Huntebrinker, 41, daughter of Tom and Violet Sutton Cavaness, was born Nov. 6, 1966, at Springfield. She died Feb. 16, 2008, at Wildwood.
She grew up at Hazelwood, where she graduated from Hazelwood West High School in 1984. She was on the swim/dive team.
She attended cosmetology school in Hazelwood and was a hair dresser for several years.
She became an entrepreneur, starting her own housecleaning business.
She married John Huntebrinker in 1990. They had three children.
Mrs. Huntebrinker was passionate about animals and enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and cooking for her family and friends.
Surviving are her parents of Houston; three children, Korie, Michael and Emily of the home; and one brother, Terry Cavaness of O’Fallon.
Memorial services were Feb. 20 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. The body was cremated and will be buried later at the Cavaness Cemetery at Success.
Memorials may be made to the Melissa Cavaness Huntebrinker Children’s Trust Fund in care of First National Bank in Houston or The Animal Shelter of Texas County.
