A Houston man is charged with rape following an incident Jan. 30 just outside the city limits of the community, authorities said.
Randall Goodman, 35, of Houston, is charged with forcible rape and forcible sodomy. The incident occurred while the victim’s children were at home, authorities said.
The incident sparked a search in the area by county and Houston officers. Goodman was found hiding near a pond bank and had inflicted wounds to himself using a large kitchen knife, officers said. Goodman was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment and later transferred for a mental evaluation.
Bond is set at $100,000.
