Houston police are investigating the theft of a firearm at a local business and referred a 16-year-old Bucyrus boy to juvenile authorities after he was found with drug paraphernalia.
Police were called Feb. 6 to Sharp Shooter Pawn on Walnut Street after owner Keith Golden of Salem reported the disappearance of a Jennings .380-caliber weapon during an inventory check. The ATF was also notified of the theft.
A 16-year-old boy was referred to the county juvenile office following a traffic stop Sunday. The boy was cited with failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In other matters, police:
-Arrested Anthony J. Jones, 47, of 8489 Mineral Drive, on Feb. 3 on county warrants charging him with DWI, driving while revoked and driving in a careless and imprudent matter.
-Were called Feb. 9 to a report of an accident at Grand Avenue and Walnut Street. Police said Melvin Walker, 85, of Mineral Drive, pulled from a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by Penne L. Kinserlow, 39.
-Cited Billy Jack Hayes, 17, of 8100 Highway E, with minor in possession of alcohol and peace disturbance at West Highway 17 Apartments.
