Eula N. Fudge, 89, daughter of Clarence Edward “Doc” and Lura Ozell Scott Reed, was born Nov. 24, 1918, near Licking. She died March 18, 2008, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

She married Thomas Louis Fudge Dec. 26, 1939. They shared 56 years of marriage and had three sons.

Mrs. Fudge began her teaching career at Pigeon School and taught at Licking R-8 from 1957 until she retired in 1980.

After retiring, the Fudges enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Yuma, Ariz.

Her hobbies were playing the trumpet, quilting, knitting, fishing, gardening and working crossword puzzles.

She was a long-time member of the Boone Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Tommy Ray Fudge; and three brothers, Guy, Oral and Ray Reed.

Surviving are two sons, Jerry Fudge of Nashville, Tenn., and Rick Fudge of Bethalto, Ill.; one sister, Lucille Alman of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were March 25 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Tubbs officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home of Licking.
