Fred M. Utley Sr., 85, son of Carl and Myrtle Utley, was born Feb. 11, 1923, at Puxico. He died Feb. 25, 2008 at Houston House.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945.

He married Bonnie L. Norton May 29, 1969. They had five children.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and liked baseball and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Eva and John Richard; and companion of many years, Rita Kohler.

Surviving are his children, Jacky Utley of High Ridge, Robin Lee of Overland, Eva Sullins and Fred Jr. of Licking and Eric Utley of Houston; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 27 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Dodson officiating. Burial with full military honors was in the Craddock Cemetery.
