Houston Student Picked for Missouri Geographic Bee

A Houston student is among 100 Missouri pupils selected as semifinalists in the Missouri Geographic Bee.

Logan Taylor, an eighth grader at Houston Middle School, received notification that he is eligible to compete in the 2008 Missouri Geographic Bee. Bees were held in schools with fourth- through eighth-grade students throughout the state to determine each school’s geographic bee winner. School-level winners took a qualifying test, which they submitted to the National Geographic Society. The top 100 compete in the state level on April 4 at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

The state winner will receive $100, a globe and a trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the national finals in May.

Logan is the son of Dr. and Mrs. B.C. Taylor.
