Lou D. Kirkman, 82, son of Roy and Callie Derryberry Kirkman, was born May 12, 1925, at Montauk. He died March 4, 2008, at his home at Houston.
He graduated in 1943 from Summersville High School and went to work for several years for a trucking company in St. Louis, where they assisted General Motors in hauling cars.
He retired and moved back to Houston, where he enjoyed working in his yard and keeping up with current events.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lloyd Kirkman.
Graveside services were March 6 at the Boone Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
