Ronald Wayne Hamby Sr., 61, son of O.L. Hamby and Della Mansfield, was born Oct. 22, 1946, at Waynesville. He died March 9, 2008.
He grew up at Edgar Springs and graduated from Rolla High School.
He married Donna Riley May 21, 1968.
Mr. Hamby served in the U.S. Air Force and 20 years in the Army Reserves.
Known as “Big Ron,” he was an outdoorsman and spent time working in his garage or on his tractors. His favorite pastime was target shooting with his son and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barb Hamby.
Surviving are his wife; three children, Samantha Stephens, Ronald Jr. and Reta Dawson; and six grandchildren.
Services were March 12 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Hamilton officeiating. Burial was in the Hutcheson Cemetery near Licking.
