The Houston Tiger Booster Club has finalized plans to honor all HHS athletes with a sports banquet, which will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 9., at the high school gymnasium.

The sure-to-be memorable evening will include a photo slideshow of the year in Houston sports and individual awards and achievements presented by coaches of each team. Two athletes will receive special recognition as the Booster Club’s Male and Female Players of the Year.

This annual banquet will take the place of individual team banquets of the past few years. Sports who have already held an individual banquet this year will still be recognized.

Formal invitations were mailed out to each athlete Thursday morning. The public is invited to attend as well.

Tickets for the banquet are $5 per person to cover meal costs. They will be sold at the door. The meal, which includes pulled pork and two sides, will be catered by Abbiatti’s Back Door Catering.

To help the booster club plan for the event, persons who plan to attend are asked to RSVP by April 30 with your number of guests by calling Jeff McNiell at the Houston Herald at 967-2000. After 5 p.m., call Diane Pierce at 967-4399 and leave a message. You may also e-mail jmcniell@houstonherald.com.
