Lloyd Howard Jackson, 81, son of Loy M. and Gracie C. Rae Jackson, was born May 13, 1926, in Bollinger County. He died March 29, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He married Lillie M. Jaco Jan. 18, 1947, at Oran. They had five children.

Mr. Jackson was a carpenter’s mate third class in the U.S. Navy, serving from Sept. 11, 1944, to March 21, 1946, during World War II. He received a Victory Medal and an American Area Asiatic Pacific Medal.

He was a businessman in the Summersville area for many years. He enjoyed his family and working outdoors on his farm.

He attended Praise Assembly Church until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Wayne Jackson; a great-grandson, five brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are his wife of the home; three sons, Lloyd of Lake St. Louis, Gary of Yellville, Ark., and Danny of Raymondville; one daughter, Kathy Clark of Summersville; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one sister.

Services were March 31 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with the Rev. Arvel Schweighauser officiating. Burial with military honors was in the Summersville City Cemetery.
