James F. Lacy, 65, son of Tom and Mae Lovett Humphries, was born June 24, 1942, at Ashridge, Ala. He died April 6, 2008, at his home at Houston.
He married Joan Schaetzlein Nov. 4, 1961, at Oakbrook, Ill. They lived and raised a family at Wheaton, Ill., for 28 years.
Mr. Lacy worked for United Parcel Service for 25 years in Chicago, Ill.
The family moved to Houston in 1992.
Mr. Lacy was a former president of the Texas County Cattleman’s Association and loved to hunt and fish, spend time on his farm, play the guitar and sing country music.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are his wife of the home; children, Laura Walsh of Davenport, Iowa, Jim Lacy of Springfield, Lynn McKee of Shirland, Ill., and Thomas Lacy of Aurora, Ill.; his mother of Houston; nine grandchildren.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday at the Shirland Township Cemetery at Shirland, Ill., under the direction of McCorkle Funeral Home of Rockton, Ill. Local arrangements were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
