Houston police made arrests, investigated shoplifting incidents and were called to a local business after a report of a peace disturbance during the last week.
Officers:
-Cited Rhonda J. Ramsey, 31, 8227 Fisher Drive, Lot 4, with following too closely following an accident April 12. Ramsey was the driver of a van that struck a car in the rear operated by Ronald L. Ice, 61, of Houston.
-Investigated a stealing incident April 6 at Houston Wal-Mart. Two Cabool residents were stopped by a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer during a traffic stop and a bottle of vodka was found. Security video showed the pair leaving the store without paying. The report was sent to a city prosecutor for review.
-Arrested Sherod D. Bittle, 24, of 535 Cleveland Road, on warrants charging him with DWI and an open container violation. He posted bond on April 8. Two days later, Bittle was the subject of a river rescue. (See related story elsewhere).
-Arrested David W. Wolfe, 21, of 415 Mill St., Lot 5, on a probation violation warrant on April 8 after he failed to meet the terms of his conditions, police said.
-Cited Megan Neal, 24, of Houston, with having no operator’s license on April 5.
-Charged Jacey L. Mott, 16, of 7014 Millstone Road, with unlawful disposal of solid waste by burning tires on April 7.
-Referred two Houston boys, ages 13 and 15, to juvenile authorities after an April 11 shoplifting incident at Houston Wal-Mart. Cologne and candy were among the items taken.
-Were called to Mom’s Kitchen on April 8 after a report of a peace disturbance. No citations were issued, and the matter was referred to the city prosecutor.
-Were called to an accident at West Highway 17 and South Sam Houston Blvd. on April 11. Police said a vehicle driven by Benjamin J. Daniels, 22, of Rolla, struck a car in the rear operated by Paul E. Brown, 52, of Mountain View, Ark. Officers said the two had apparently be involved in a road rage incident south of Rolla and north of Houston. Daniels claimed he had been forced off the road by Brown. Daniels claimed he was following Brown when he suddenly stopped on purpose at a red traffic light to cause an accident, according to a police report.
