Betty Jean Guyott Cooper, 73, daughter of Lester Louis Guyott and Eula Pearl Yount Guyott, was born Nov. 21, 1934, at Patton. She died May 23, 2008, at Mountain View Health Care at Mountain View.
She grew up in the Fredricktown/Perryville area and graduated from St. Vincent High School.
She moved to St. Louis and worked for Remington Rand in their microfilm division. Years later, she worked at Cooper’s Farm Supply at Summersville.
Mrs. Cooper was active in the community, serving on the Date Township Board as treasurer for many years. She owned and operated a tax preparation/bookkeeping business and a seasonal greenhouse, supplying bedding plants.
In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her yard and garden, fishing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching old movies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert L. Guyott; and an infant son, Cody.
Surviving are her husband, Homer, of the home at Arroll; children, Pat Hamilton of St. Peters, Kim Tune of Houston, Ric Schulte of Summersville, Carla Cooper of Conroe, Texas, and Troy Cooper of Humble, Texas; and sister, Ann Sullivan of Bunker; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were May 27 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emmett Bradford and Calvin Cooper officiating. Burial was in the Midvale Cemetery with Father Earnest Marquart officiating.
