Lynn Kinder, 72, son of Roy and Susie Harris Kinder, was born Feb. 28, 1936, on the family farm near Lenox. He died May 17, 2008, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
He married Lovenia Kay Lotz Nov. 8, 1958.
He operated heavy equipment. His hobbies included coon and bird hunting and working with his cattle. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop.
Mr. Kinder was a member of the Licking Assembly of God. He accepted Christ as savior at a young age at Enon Baptist Church at Lenox.
Many Sundays, the Kinder house was packed with family.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean Sargent.
Surviving are his wife; eight children, Mike Kinder of Lake Jackson, Texas, Jimmy Kinder of Mountain View, Bryon Kinder, Jeff Kinder, Anita Reed and Shanna Kinder of Licking, Curtis Kinder of Woodstock, Va., and Mark Kinder of Beulah; one brother, Leroy Kinder of Lenox; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were May 20 at the Licking Assembly of God with the Rev. Anzel Shoultz and the Rev. David Skeens officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
