Robin Leo Young, 45, son of Leo and Betty F. Holden Young, was born Aug. 31, 1952, at the Houston Medical Center. He died May 15, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View.

He grew up at Success but never attended school since mentally handicap classes were not offered. Recently he attended the “Let’s Go” activity center at West Plains.

His interests were maps, 18-wheelers and animals, especially dogs which he called “Charlie.” He enjoyed the small things of life: a drink and hamburger from McDonald’s, a map or a kind word.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jess and Ella Young and Frank and Bessie Holden; and his father.

Surviving are his mother of Success; two sisters, Regina Breedlove of Success and Rose Anna Michael of El Paso, Texas; and his caregiver, Patsy Therelkeld.

Services were May 20 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Oakland Cemetery Association or The Animal Shelter of Texas County.
