Delline Leatrice McColgin Farrell, 84, daughter of Andy McColgin and Edna Jewell Price McColgin, was born April 29, 1924, in St. Louis. She died June 22, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was diagnosed in 1996 with breast cancer.

She moved to Raymondville with her parents at age 7, where the family owned a gas station two miles north of Raymondville on Highway 137.

They had two sons and the family operated a feeder steer operation from 1950 until Mr. Farrell’s death in 1988. Mrs. Farrell kept the books for the ranch as well as the Raymondville Feed Mill. Mrs. Farrell spent time running to Houston, Mountain Grove and Licking for parts and supplies for the ranch.

She was a member of the Blue Heaven Club in Raymondville in the ’70s and was baptized Nov. 6, 2005, as a member of Faith Fellowship.

She loved her yard work and flowerbeds, grew a large garden, canned and tried new recipes.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald Farrell of Oak Grove and Clifford Farrell of Raymondville; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are 10 o’clock today (Thursday) at Faith Fellowship with Leon Slape officiating. Burial is in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
