Ellen L. Breedlove, 56, daughter of Charles L. Swain and Betty Jean Colter Swain, was born Feb. 13, 1952, in St. Louis. She died June 10, 2008, at her home at Houston.
She married Jerry Breedlove. They were later divorced.
Ms. Breedlove was a school teacher, most recently teaching in the Dixon School District. She had taken a leave to care for an ill family member.
She was preceded in death by her father; son, Anthony Lee Payne; and a granddaughter.
Surviving are her children, the Rev. Jerry Don Breedlove Jr. of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Gena Doty of El Dorado, Kan.; her mother and stepfather, Betty and Bill McSherry of Summersville; special friend, Kenneth Roberts of Mountain Grove; brothers and sisters, Ivan Swain, Janet Bohn, Jim Finnell, Robin Swain, Chuck Swain and Manuel Swain; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services were June 13 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with the Rev. Terry Hancock officiating.
