The South Central District of Missouri Department of Transportation announced Roger Maxwell, land survey supervisor, will retire July 1, bringing to a close a 22-year career with the department.

Maxwell began his career with MoDOT in the spring of 1971 as an intermediate computer draftsman in District 6 then located in Kirkwood. He stayed two years before deciding he wanted to return to Houston. He accepted another position with MoDOT in 1988 as a construction technician, transferred to the survey crew as an instrument operator in 1993 and was later promoted to his current position.

Maxwell and his wife, Cathy, enjoy water sports and like to travel, camp and fish. Both look forward to enjoying more time with those activities. He also plans to spoil his two grandchildren more and will continue to farm.
