Texas County Memorial Hospital is offering a multi-chem profile screening Friday, June 27, as part of the annual Intercounty Electric Coop Picnic. The screening and picnic festivities begin at 8 a.m. at the Licking City Park.

The multi-chem profile is a blood test that screens the following: albumen, alkaline phosphatase (liver function), ALT (SGPT-liver function), ASP (SGOT liver function), bilirubin, blood urea nitrogen (kidney function), calcium, chloride, cholesterol (total and fractioned-HDL, LDL, VDL), creatinine (kidney function), estimated coronary heart disease risk, GGT (liver function), globulin, glucose, iron, LDH (liver function), phosphorous, potassium, protein, sodium, triglyceride and uric acid (test for gout).

The multi-chem profile is available for $25 at the Intercounty event. The screening has a $321 value.

To ensure the most accurate results for the multi-chem profile, participants are asked to avoid eating or drinking for 8 hours prior to having their blood drawn. The screening is on a first-come-first-served basis; no appointments will be taken. Results will be mailed to participants within two weeks of the screening.
