Velma R. Kofahl, 84, daughter of Clifton G. and Pearl R. Craddock Edgar, was born Nov. 2, 1923, near Edgar Springs. She died June 19, 2008, at Ozarks Medical Center at West Plains.

She married Charles Leslie Kofahl Jan. 6, 1940. They had two sons and lived on the family farm near Licking for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, friends and family, especially time spent with her grandchildren and took pride in preparing family dinners.

She was a long-time member of the Licking Church of Christ and served as Democrat committeewoman in past years.

She moved in 2002 to Willow West Apartments at Willow Springs and enjoyed the activities there, including trips to Branson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Fern Kinder and Lois Meyer; a brother, William Edgar; and two grandsons.

Surviving are her sons, Charles Clifford of Springfield and Chris of Chatham, Ill.; a sister, Jessie Stone of Licking; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were June 23 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Tubbs officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery.
