Ethel Evelyn Roark Taber, 86, daughter of William Jesse Roark and Vesta Ida Ball Roark, was born Nov. 28, 1921, in the Stallman community in Texas County. She died June 30, 2008, at Mountain View.
She married Lee Taber. They were married 62 years before his death and had four children.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Calvin Roark; five sisters, Phyllis Roark, Florence House, Opal Grady, Alva Bird and Beluah House; and an infant grandson.
Surviving are her children, Howard Lee of Mountain View, Duane Givler of Springfield, Dwaine of Kerrville, Texas and Glenda Hawkins of Mountain View; one sister, Alice Wilbanks of Mountain View; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were July 3 at the Oakside Church with the Rev. Emmett Bradford officiating. Burial was in the Oakside Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
